What are we drinking?
I found Merlot in a soda bottle, because I’m in England, and that’s the sort of thing people do here. They also put Mariah Carey on chips, and organize their grocery stores in strange ways. Headed to Northern Ireland in a few days where I can pay homage to the gods of motorcycles.

But drinking them makes you feel all tingly inside. Until it makes you feel all spinny at which point you expel most of the calories.

I’ll just smoke a joint and eat a bunch of pop corn.

I assure you, wine in plastic bottles like than isn’t common in the U.K., though it is quite common in parts of Europe.
Here it’s either regular glass wine bottles of multi-litre (3 or 5) boxes of wine.
Mariah Carey is heading up the christmas adverts for Walkers (Lays) here in the U.K.
Dear god, look at how she bites into the crisp towards the end. Just eat the bloody thing, don’t nibble it.

I can see they’ve done it properly.

I assume that Germans and Scotts are the only other people who drink wine out of plastic bottles. ;)
I only bought this because my wife expressed her appreciation that Europeans put more thought into their packaging than Americans, and couldn’t resist being a smartass (we bought a little 1L glass wine bottle at the Dublin Airport yesterday).

Still a couple of hours left... I think I’m running low on beer at home so I’ll pick up some more drink on the way home.

You can get wine and spirits in plastic bottle in France, Spain, etc...
I was once given a premium bottle of Spanish rum, in a plastic bottle. I looked at the person who gave me it like, ‘what the hell, it’s in a plastic bottle, did you just get this from duty free?’.
That Merlot is a store’s own brand bottle. But ye’ some labelling can be quite ornate while others can be rather plain. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason from cheap to expensive either.

Rum can be from anywhere really . Originally from the Americas and the Caribbean, there is probably few countries now that don’t have their own rum.
